I don’t know why I decided to make this post, maybe someone would explain what I’m doing wrong. Or maybe I’ll just tell you what’s going on with a sub-indie developer, I’ll start right with what happened over these two years.

What has changed?

Well, I also graduated from my university and received a diploma as a Mechanical Engineer, and broke up with girl, I got a shitty job, I’m still surprised how I manage to work as a mechanic with an engineering degree. Well, how can anyone remember that game dev and the Bloody Dusk team never left my life?. Yes, I have dedicated 3 years of my life to this team. At the moment I am playing the role of deputy head of the team, since he is currently “pulling the burden” of soldier’s everyday life. But he is sensitive to everything that happens to the team.

After Dmitry (the head of the team) was drafted into the army, I was essentially left alone on the team. Since I didn’t want to abandon the whole idea, I decided to try to create something myself. Since Dmitry was responsible for the code in our team, I first had to learn to code myself. Fortunately, at the university, my specialty was subjects related to programming and I had a minimal idea of ​​“what and where”, also before leaving for the army, our head managed to finish a series of his lessons on programming in unity in C#, they helped me somehow get used to coding. After practice, I was able to assemble what I eventually called “ACK-ACK”; in Russian I called it “Zenitka”. Just in the process of creating the anti-aircraft gun, I managed to get a job. Having already had some income, I saved up the money to buy a Google developer account. I don’t know why, but I decided for myself that the “anti-aircraft gun” should come out on mobile. At that moment, I was sure that I could earn at least a little and cover at least the costs of purchasing an account, since with my income, especially at that time, the sum was impressive.

And so on September 8, 2015, I uploaded the first version of “Zenitka” to the Play Market. Below you can see what this piece of code was.
